The Nightmare Theory

Today, a prompt, because I just thought it up. I call this the Nightmare Theory. The basic idea is that somepony, or some ponies, through some string of events decides to try and figure out the cause of all the chaos in the past year (give or take), assuming the show really meant that everything from seasons 1-3 essentially happened in a single year, and Tirek came sometime afterwards. They may do it alone or with the help of others, or a group, or something, it's really open ended. I just had the thought, and I thought I'd make that a post for today. The paragraph below is a sort of an example.

Summary of Prompt: Somepony/Someponies try to figure out the cause behind all of the chaos that began with Nightmare Moon, and perpetuated the following year and few months.

Ever wondered why this past year was so chaotic, so strangely out of balance? I ensure you, you are not alone in your questioning. No, the events of these bygone months are definitely something more than coincidence, they are interconnected in some way, some shape, some web holds all the pieces together. One year, first the return of Nightmare Moon, then Discord returns, some time later Cerberus, the Guardian of Tartarus, leaves his post, then the Changeling Invasion lead by Queen Chrysalis, followed by the sudden reappearance of the Crystal Empire, and with it the horrible King Sombra, after that the reformation of the Spirit of Chaos, then the Everfree Forest itself invades with those damnable Plunder Vines, the Sun and the Moon hanging together in the sky at the same time. Perpetual dusk and dawn. After that, just in the first few months of the new year, the return of yet another, this one from Tartarus, probably escaped after Cerberus left his post. Tirek left a streak of destruction across Equestria. A list this long is no coincidence. There is a reason behind this, there must be. And I will find it.
