So you actually decided to read this. Alright. I usually just review one shots, as they are easy to read through(also because homework is important apparently) and because they are easy to glance over if I missed something. Also because I need to practice my reviewing. If it has a lot of dislikes, I'll be more likely to review it, but that's not going to gravitate me.
Guess I would be playing Discords Advocate here, since none dared to come forth.
If your Alicorn isn't stronger or more powerful then Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash or Twilight Sparkle, I would give your Pony a good chance.
Although 'Over Powered' is a relative expression, directed at the environment and the fellow Ponies too.
My typical Pony would have a weakness or fear to balance the book too.
My first was an ascended Pegasus, much like Princess Cadence, which gives a fear for tight forestation like the Everfree and lacking confidence in her magic.

To me, it is about avoiding creating a Merry Sue and common tropies, before you even write the side story. This would still apply to any character, Pony or otherwise.
