My Thoughts on Fan Fiction

Dear Reader,

I'm glad I finally made the decision to join FIM Fiction. I often time feel that fan fiction gets a bad wrap. Well, I actually know that fan fiction gets a bad wrap. Usually, if I bring it up in general conversation, people remark about it being crud, scandalous sex stories. This is especially true when I mention MLP fan fiction. It is true that there are fan fictions that are just that, but there is plenty of regular fiction stories about the same subject.

As for myself, I think I'm here to write short one shot stories about my feelings. I find fan fiction as a good jumping off point to describe a true event in my life in a fictional way. Since I already know the characters I can just choose the ones that fit best into my ideas. I don't have to create everyone from scratch along with the setting, back-story, and character relationships. That's the beauty of fan-fiction.
