Well, the much-anticipated MLP: FiM fan film, Journey of the Spark by Celestial Spark Studios, has been cancelled, and relegated to the status of audio drama.

Firstly, I called it when I first read about it some time ago. If JanAnimations cannot make their own little fan films , then there was no way in Hell that Hasbro was going to let another fan studio squeak by with a FREAKING FEATURE LENGTH MOVIE. Instead of doing the smart thing, which would have been going underground, finishing the damn thing, and then releasing it to get out into the general public as much as possible before Hasbro issued a C&D order, thereby ensuring that some corner of the fandom would still have access to it and freaking torrent it, they decided to thumb their nose at the establishment and SHOUT IT OUT TO THE WORLD THAT THEY WERE MAKING A MOVIE BASED ON A VERY JEALOUSLY PROTECTED FRANCHISE.
Even the dwarves in the Hobbit had better sense than to go tweaking Smaug's whiskers. They did it with subtlety.
But Eric Emma Violet WHATEVER THE HELL THE DIRECTOR DECIDED HIS NAME WAS THIS WEEK, decided he was going to be Mr. Tough Britches and ignore the LEGAL PRECEDENTS SET BY SO MANY OTHER BRONY STUDIOS OUT THERE!!!
Uh, Earth to Ridenour...JUST BECAUSE LAUREN FAUST AND A FEW OTHERS LUUURV YOUR IDEA DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO INFRINGE ON COPYRIGHT LAWS.
And then, Ridenour had the gall to put his executive producer, Jonathan Sirois, up to giving us the bad news instead of posting a video on his Youtube Channel with his ugly mug on there and FACING THE MUSIC LIKE A DECENT HUMAN BEING.
Noooo...instead, he had Jonathan post an APOLOGY LETTER ON THEIR HOME PAGE.
Oh, well, it is sooo nice to know how sorry you were, Ridenour...and the fact that you are sooooo much more mature than you were when you first started, especially since you see how a bad attitude affects how much people want to work with you and take directions...
TOO BAD YOU DIDN'T REALIZE THAT THIS WAS GOING TO BE A HUGE ENDEAVOR IN THE FIRST PLACE, AND THAT YOU WOULD NEED THE HELP OF MANY PEOPLE, WHICH MEANT NOT ACTING LIKE A SPOILED LITTLE BRAT AND TREATING THEM LIKE DIRT.
And too bad that you didn't put a finger to your noggin and think-thank-thunk the possible legal ramifications over concerning this project.
Of course...it isn't like you had any prior examples, right? Riiiiiight?

Not only are you NOT CONTINUING PRODUCTION, YOU ARE COMPLETELY WALKING AWAY FROM THE ENTIRE SHEBANG.
Instead of FINISHING WHAT YOU STARTED AND PROVIDING WHAT YOU PROMISED, YOU ARE THROWING YOUR HANDS UP, LEAVING US ALL IN THE LURCH, COMFORTABLE IN THE ASSUMPTION THAT ALL WE NEED TO FORGIVE YOU IS A SMILE AND AN APOLOGY.

SCREW. YOU. RUNNING.
There are consequences to your actions, and the consequence here is the type where the path you took and the decisions you made, in addition to the promises...PROMISES, RIDENOUR...PROMISES...you gave, had the effect of gifting us with expectations, of giving you our faith...
AND YOU THREW IT ALL IN THE DIRT.
I have lost faith in you, Ridenour. Not only did you not legally cover your butt in the first place, not only did you decide to moon copyright laws, not only did you treat your production team horribly (which you have ADMITTED to), but you took our trust and completely abused it.
And I find you morally bankrupt, ethically reprehensible, and PERSONALLY unforgivable.
The only reason I will partake of the audio drama is because I want to see the finished product of a project I find highly entertaining, much in the same way I like answering the questions of children, no matter how silly or inconsequential.
Because I see its potential.
You came up with this, with help, but you were the DIRECTOR.
THIS. WAS. YOUR. BABY.
And you are abandoning it.
Shame on you, Ridenour. Shame on you.
Do not expect me to seek out any other projects you work on.
Your behavior with this one has left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
This must be the best rant i have ever read about a project and its director congratulations i may not know what he was trying to make cause i had not heard about it. but yeah you gave some good reasons and have the right to be angry just make sure someone picks up that phone cause you called it.
