Immortality and the effects it has on the mind

I just finished working on one of the upcoming chapters to my adventure epic, EQUESTRIAN SOULS: the fires of war. And a thought began to churn in my mind. I figured there wasn't anywhere better to get it out of my skull then right here on Fimfiction.

You see Twilight Sparkle is an alicorn now, and alicorns are pretty much immortal. The oldest alicorn we know of is Celestia and she over one thousand years old. Now in the tv show I don't think it has occurred to Twilight that she is now an alicorn and that means she will have to watch all of her friends die of old age, and then there children and so on. Now even though Hasbro will probably never go into detail about this, it will be heart rending when she discovers it. She might go into a deep depression for a few years. Eventually she will learn just how precious life really is, but it may take her hundreds of years to do so. The good news is that dragons live for practically ever, and may even outlive alicorns. Considering that dragons will nap for a hundred years, they must have long lives, I mean I only nap for an hour or two at most. seriously if an hour to me, is a hundred years to a dragon, then they must live for tens of thousands of years, maybe even hundreds of thousands.

Now back to the original point, Twilight will out live most if not all of her friends. The only real hope for one of her friends to stay with her at this point is Fluttershy. See Fluttershy became Flutterbat in season 4, complete with a hint that she wasn't completely fixed at the end. Unfortunately on closer inspection Fluttershy did not become a bad flank vampire like Marceline from adventure time. Instead I believe what Flutterbat is, is a were-bat. I know it sounds similar but stay with me here.

Vampires are immortal, they live forever unless killed by some archaic and generally cheesy means. But Were-animals usually only live for a few hundred years to near a thousand. Some myths place were-animals as near immortals themselves but this has not been the case in a lot of recent trends. So in the end Fluttershy will most likely die of old age as well, even though she will probably out live everypony else by a few hundred years.

So in the end Twilight will have to watch her first and best friends in the world die off one by one, it's a tragic thing, but with the help of Celestia and the others it may be less painful for her. But even as painful it will be for Twilight, it's going to be far worse for Cadence as she loses the love of her life, Shining Armor. Which just so happens to be Twilight's brother. Many tears will be shed for him.

Is Rainbow Dash able to reverse her age by using the sonic rainboom? can Pinkie Pie break the forth wall and become immortal that way?
