Story Ideas I Never Followed Through With But Really Should Have

For the two of you who may have read my stories on Equestria Daily, you know that I am an author. I am far from a professional, but I write fanfiction in my spare time. The reason I named myself StoryBirth is because I felt like I had all these ideas bouncing around in my head and all these stories, but I could never get them all the way out on paper. So here's a list of the stories that I may have started on, but never saw their own end. Some of them I probably will finish some day, but some I never will and I guess are up for grabs for anypony who wants 'em. Here we go...

1) Catching Up On Sleep [Sad]

The story: This was a one-shot I was planning on making where Applejack asks Twilight to use a spell on her that can keep her awake for as long as she wants without becoming sleep-deprived (after the whole Applebuck Season incident). Turns out she stays awake for years on end, until one day, she decides to take a nap to remember what sleep was like. This breaks the spell, and in order for her body to catch up on all of that sleep, she goes into a coma for about a year to a year and a half. Applejack wakes up in Appleloosa under the care of Braeburn and discovers that she had missed so much in Ponyville such as Applebloom getting her cutie mark and the death of Granny Smith.

Why I never Followed Through: To be honest, this is one that I didn't even start writing. I think it's because I looked it over and then realized that there wasn't really an arc. Applejack tells Twilight she doesn't need the spell to be taken off, and then BAM! Life sucks. End of story. Just wasn't really anything I wanted to pursue. If anyone else does, feel free to take it.

2)Want It, Need It [Comedy] [Shipping]

The Story: Another one-shot. Spike asks Twilight to use the Want it, Need it spell on him to win Rarity's heart over. After seeing Spike, Rarity locks down her house with metal doors (which she apparently made to protect Tom). But not before Rainbow Dash sees Spike, leading to the pegasus attempting to destroy the boutique. Meanwhile, Spike isn't enthralled with the over-the-top obsession Rarity gets for Spike (she wraps him up inn fabric), so when Rainbow breaks a hole in the wall, Spike escapes, but still has the spell, leading to a repeat of Lesson Zero, but this time with the mane cast tied up as well. Spike has to find Twilight to get the spell off.

Why I Never Followed Through: I wrote this (along with most of my stories) on my Ipod Touch. The Ipod Touch got stolen halfway through writing the story, and it has so far been forgotten. It seems like a great story to me, so I'm planning on rewriting it on the laptop.

3) Trixie's Pet [Adventure]

Originally made for Writer's Training Ground Theme: "A pony's pet is stuck in a tree."

The Story: An OC (LE GASP) named bowline follows Trixie into the Everfree Forest after "Boast Busters" and asks her why she said she had never vanquished an Ursa Major/Minor when he SAW her defeat it. It turns out Trixie has Zecora make her brew that cause the extreme and rapid rising and sinking of trees. Inside one tree, Trixie keeps an Ursa Minor, who she uses as an actor for her shows. An entire flask of the powerful potion accidentally breaks on the tree to make it rise up to a ludicrous height. Since the lowering potion is still on the ground, the duo has to take the Ursa Minor down the tall tree. Meanwhile, Bowline, who writes articles in a gossip magazine, realizes that bringing Trixie's scam to light would make him loads of money and has to decide what he'll do when he gets out of the tree.

Why I Never Followed Through: I sent it in to the training ground, got some feedback, gave it to other reviewers, got feedback, sent it to Equestria Daily, got rejected. When I look back, I realize that my problem is my OC. I just did a bad job giving him a character. I suppose I could redo the first chapter just to sorta give Bowline's character another try. Why didn't I do that earlier? Probably cuz I'm lazy.

4) Flutterboom [Sad]

For the Writer's Training Ground theme: "One pony teaches another pony a new skill."

The Story: Yet another one-shot. Angel is dying. His dying wish is to see Fluttershy do a Sonic Rainboom. Rainbow Dash laughs at the idea, but after a while, agrees to help her out. Fluttershy has to overcome all of her fears and do what nopony expected her to do. For Angel. The story ends with her doing the Rainboom as Angel dies, as we discover it was all a part of Angel's plan for her to overcome her fears.

Why I Never Followed Through: I don't really know. I guess that I had passed the deadline for the Writer's Training Ground and my mind went to other fics. But I really need to write this. Even if I'm not good with sadfics, I think that I could do this, but if anyone out there thinks they could nail this on the head, then be my guest.

5) Part Two of Experiment 367 [Portal 2 Crossover]

The Story: One day the sky turn an odd shade of blue that is revealed to be the Blue Screen of Death. Ancient Mythology says that this is a sign from another world in the sky ruled by a voice. Twilight is sent to the "Voiceland" with Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash as stowaways. They go up there and get caught by a confused and semi-panicked Wheatley. Then GLaDOS takes over and realizes that these were experiments from years ago. [Insert Details that explain everything here] Needless to say, the story itself gets complicated...
