OH MY GOD! All three of my stories have been downvoted by 1! Some little sperg got his panties in a twist and decided this was the best way to deal with me instead of taking it to a PM or doing it face to face. What am I going to do?
Well, nothing actually. What they did was possibly one of the most passive aggressive things that could be done on this site. Give thumbs down as some sort of childish revenge for something that was said, or possibly because one of their stories showed up in Plan 9 From Equestria. Here's news for you though, I really don't care. I've asked people for downvote storms on my work before and then add them to the requests folder of Plan 9. Reasons is, votes don't matter to me. You like my stories? Great. You hate them? That's cool. But what you won't see me do is cry or get all stressed out because of it.
They're just stories.
You're very right, they are just stories. Things like this you just have to take with a grain of salt. Of course not everyone will like your stories for whatever reason they may have, but you can't change how they think and you shouldn't try to. (Within reason of course,when it comes to reasons of dislike such as the grammar and spelling.)
It's nice to write and have people enjoy your work but it's a double edged sword that people don't seem willing to accept. If you're going to do any kind of writing you have to write for yourself first. No one's perfect though and we'll all make mistakes on things we do, there's always room for improvement on things and people will be there to point that out to you. You've just got to accept it and roll with it. It's best to try and use some of it as well to help improve things of your story that you think need work as well. It's just not worth ripping your hair out over.
