Supplimental Information: Heresies. · 3:55am Apr 18th, 2014
During the reconstruction in the Post Discord Period, The Diarchy set down rules on certain acceptable philosophies. Numerous secret societies from Unicornia, Ipponia, and Etrotsca were organized into Formal Organizations, with codified purposes. Other philosophical clubs were disbanded for one reason or another, either due to redundancy (Where they were made part of a Knightly Order,) Having too few members, or promoting views that conflicted with the unity that the Princesses wished to promote.
This last group was labeled as 'The Heresies,' and a Governmental organization was formed both to educate the populace, and round up troublemakers. The current Heresies are:
#1, Discordians: Followers of the scourge known as Discord. Whether they follow out of fear, or revel in the mischief that they cause, Discordians have been the most troublesome of the Heresies.
Treatment: Detain and imprison, rehabilitate if possible. Exterminate the more troublesome members if necessary.
#2, Seperatists: While not as dangerous as Discordians, Seperatists are not more tolerated. Espousing the idea that Earth Ponies don't need the other breeds, they gather into insular communities. Here they keep traditions where a stallion may keep several mares for his private use, that they don't need to rely on technological advancements, and that each head of the household is a law unto themselves. Unlike the Cannonnites who pay respect to the Diarchy, Seperatists turn their backs on the pair, simply for having horns and wings.
Treatment: Detain and Rehabilitate.
#3, Aquacornism: While they don't present an overt threat, Aquacorns espouse a philosophy that goes against the Unity of the breeds. By Aligning the elemental affinities so that Unicorns are associated with Water, (on the basis of magic and mana mimicking the flow of the fluid), and placing Alicorns into the fire slot, (Since Luna and Celestia were now guiding the sun and moon,) they deny the Merae any kind of place in pony society. Moreover, they inadvertently disrespect the Diarchy by giving them only one Elemental Affinity, instead of all four. Finally, this has given rise to the idea that Alicorns are a distinct breed, rather than an Ascended Pony. This in turn leads to the idea that since one has to be born an Alicorn, rather than become one by fulfilling ones potential, ones' special talent cannot be developed any further after discovery.
Treatment: Detain and Rehabilitate. Made easier now that Cadance, and Twilight, have shown the falseness of the latter ideas.
#4, Supplicants of Solar Flare: In the wake of the Long Night, Celestia sequestered herself for a time. While most were worried about the lack of strong leadership, others took it as a sign of a new direction for Equestria. They gave their devotion to a version of Celestia that was cruel, dour, and tolerated little deviation from the norm. In their Zeal, the Suppllicants committed atrocities that would rival those of the Discordians. Viewing themselves as the Iron hoof of the Sun Princess, they went from town to town, espousing their views on what was and was not acceptable. While they kept the breeds focused on working together to serve the nation, they also preached about how such service made them superior to those who didn't give Celestia her due. They not only hassled their Roa, Donkey and Bovine neighbors, but they believed that all other races should serve the Princess. in the year 66, acting on this belief led to the Predator Wars.
Treatment: Small pockets of the Heresy remain, and are removed by any means necessary.
#5, Tartarians: In the centuries after the Predator Wars, connections were made with the Ghora and Uma'a. This brought in an influx of knowledge and mysticism. Several secret societies formed around fragments of these ideas, seeking out new ways of using pony magic. one such society was a Percheron Club founded by rich nobles who were jaded by the then currently available luxuries, and so sought out new ways to entertain themselves. In the wake of the Percheron revolution, it was found that they had found a way to open a small tear between Equestria and Tartaros. While it was too small to allow ponies to travel there, reports indicate that a hoof-sized insect of some kind was released from the Prison Realm.
Treatment: None. All members are currently deceased, and the Prison realm has been further reenforced.
#6, Randomoids: A small cult of Equinality formed around an Author/Philosopher. The organization has shown itself to be antagonist towards the Princesses, and records of their crimes are readily available.
Treatment: With their founding figure incarcerated, the Cult is currently fractured. Recruitment has become increasingly difficult, and since they are currently a major focus, the group will soon go the same way as the Tartarians, unless something major happens soon.
#7, Smoozians: Dating back to antiquity, the 'Children of Smooze' as they were called, were devout followers of an ancient Archmage, and hosts for his grand project. While the Archmage and his known subjects had been destroyed, the nature of the project makes it possible for another pony to continue, should they come across the right knowledge.
Treatment:Currently none, since the group is considered as destroyed during the Umbratara Reclaimation.
That's a fitting origin of parasprites. Something that voracious can't exist in nature.
