A question on Ponyville

What do you think life was like before Twilight met the other five? while they were still in Ponyville?

Their lives were boring as hell

For some reason I imagine that it was a lot more quiet than it is now.
However I also beloved that because it is so close to the everfree forest I would imagine they had a local disaster team to help out if something did occur. Or the air raid siren set up like in secret of my excess let the townsponies know of disaster and to evacuate town while letting nearness towns or cities like Canterlot know that they need help.
But as far as the five other members f mane six goes, they knew of each other but weren't all friends with eachother either.
