I hate mundane obligatory responses/comments · 12:23am Mar 31st, 2014
I feel insulted when someone says something obligatory. I dislike obligatory phrases, or phrases that are used so often it's second nature with no thought behind it. I don't say "Happy Birthday" because I know that person is going to hear that many times, I mix up words, and put thought into it, "I wish you a joyous day in anniversary of your birth" It doesn't seem sincere unless thought has been put into it.
The first three comments are "Thanks for the fav!", "Thanks for the fave", and "Thanks for watching me. :D" It appears that they could have that copied and just ctrl+v on everyone who clicked the little star that let's you see when their story updates. (I don't hate you three or your stories)
I don't have any meaningful comments on my user page.
It's insulting to both parties. It's insulting to me because it makes it seem like I am not worth their time to think something out, but still feel obliged to do something(instead of say working on the story). It's insulting to them because it feels so rehearsed and uncreative, painting them as only falsely caring or uncreative.
If they at least put some thought into it, or even just asking what I liked about the story I wouldn't really think of it as insulting because if they ask what I think directly then it means they actually care and I am not just +1 to their stories rating.
I don't think I could manage a self help group. Because they always start along the lines of "My name is Lego Brick, and I enjoy causing pain to those above me." "Hello Lego Brick, Wanting to hurt others is natural, hurting others is not." "Hello my name is Westinghouse Chair. . ." "Hello Westinghouse Chair, wanting to. . ."
