Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks; why I can't replace it

So my order of Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks arrived a couple days ago. I didn't watch it immediately as I was doing other things, but I did start to watch it (key word being start). At first, I thought this film was money well-spent: I thought the villains were creative, the story was compelling, and I did want to know how the characters would come out of everything... Then, I hit the halfway

So I just Realized Something About Season 4

So, I'm finally blogging in this site. Huzzah? I don't know, I'm not really one for blogging. But I just realized a common thread in Season 4 of MLP, and I kind of wanted to rant. So, I thought that "What better way to rant than with a blog that no one will probably read?" Ha! Ahem, anyway.

So I just Realized Something About Season 4 · 11:22pm Mar 30th, 2014

So, I'm finally blogging in this site. Huzzah? I don't know, I'm not really one for blogging. But I just realized a common thread in Season 4 of MLP, and I kind of wanted to rant. So, I thought that "What better way to rant than with a blog that no one will probably read?" Ha! Ahem, anyway.

So today at 11:30, I was able to catch up on MLP with the newest episode, "Leap of Faith," and while I didn't hate it, I kind of felt that there were better episodes. But, my personal opinions aside, I ended up noticing something at the end of the episode. (SPOILERS) When Applejack ended up realizing that she had to tell the truth about the Flim Flam brothers' tonic, her eyes briefly glowed in Rainbow Light. Upon seeing that, I briefly remembered seeing something similar in an earlier episode, "It Ain't Easy Being Breezies," when Fluttershy realized that the Breezies had to go otherwise they'd never get home. At first I thought it was meant to be an echo of realization, but then I remembered an earlier episode in the series, "Rainbow Falls." At the end of that episode, Rainbow was given a Wonderbolts badge that, after she wrote about her experience in that journal, briefly glowed in rainbow light. The same happened to the bit that was given to Applejack at the end of this episode.

This sparked a connection for me, and as a result, I started making connections in other episodes. These episodes are, and I quote, "Rarity Takes Manehattan," "Rainbow Falls," "Pinkie Pride," "It Ain't Easy Being Breezies," and of course "Leap of Faith." In each of these episodes, one of the Mane 6 has a story centered around them that has them dealing with a situation that causes the character to go through their own existential crisis. Then, at some moment in the episode, the character has a sudden realization, marked by their eyes glowing in a rainbow light. Then, the character realizes a lesson, another character that has something to do with this dilemma gives them a keepsake as a symbol of appreciation, and at the end of the episode, the object glows in rainbow light as well (if you're wondering where my examples are, I can't find any images that are too large)

This finally got me thinking, and I finally made a connection; the objects that the Mane 6 get are the keys to that box from "Princess Twilight Sparkle," Part 2. Granted, after searching for examples of my point online, I know I'm not the first person to discover this, and I'm probably not going to be the last, but really, who else here thinks that the way they're doing this is actually really clever? I think it is, and I like how the keys are given to the Mane 6 subtly through small trials of their respective elements. Like Rarity has her generosity taken advantage of, Rainbow has to choose where her loyalties lie, Pinkie has deals with competition in terms of parties, and so-on and so-forth. It's really nice, really subtle, and really cool.

But, now that I've gotten that rant out of my systems, I have a question for anyone that actually read this; How many of you knew this prior to this blog, how many of you knew it after, and what are your thoughts on this?
