Looking Back Episode 1: Daring Don't and Daring being real. · 3:18am Mar 19th, 2014

Hello their to any that might be watching, this is a little blog I'm calling Looking Back, where I go over old Episode of MLP and well look back. Being someone who watches Pony Analysis a much as I read Fan Fiction, I've decided to go over points certain people make, and then add my own points as well. Is this creative or inspiring probably not, but it my blog and I have stuff I want to say so lets do this thing. I've decided to start with a controversial one. Daring Don't

Daring Don't is, according to what I have scene is one of the most polarizing episodes of Season 4 so far. Why? They made Daring Do real. Yes, I bet if they hadn't made Daring Do real this episode wouldn't have been nearly as controversial as it has been. (Whether or not Rainbowdash fangirling was annoying or out of character is debatable and I can see both points of view) .I won't be going over some of the points that say Daring Do can't or can be real (Meaning I will not be defending or attacking any plots holes people found in the episode), if you want that go check out Mysterious Mr. Enter review of it and his follow up, I think he gives some good points defending some of those plot holes ,but instead I'm going to point out why I think Daring Do being real actually adds some interesting concepts to the world of Equestria. First and foremost, the mane (See what I did there) reason I like the idea of Daring being real, or at least the concept of it, is the fact that perhaps it means that there are other ponies in Equestria that have action pact adventures outside the Mane six and fight off other evils. Something I see fan fic writers do from time to time. Now one of the complaint's I've heard from people is that "Why Doesn't Daring Do know the mane Six." or "Does Princess Celestia know of Daring Do Endeavour's." As for the second question who knows she might, can only wait and see on that one. As for the first question, Daring Do does live in a remote part of the world so she probably doesn't get a lot of info but also does every hero in a universe need to know the others hero's living in it? If you look at universe such as say... The Marvel of D.C Universe not all the Superhero's know each . At least at first, until the Justice League or Avengers are formed. But not being a full on comic book aficionado myself I will give to you another example which I am more familiar with and has a somewhat similar concept of what i call the Multi-Hero factor. Their is a TV show called "Once Upon a Time" on ABC where all the Disney/Fairy Tale Character's live in one Land known as the Enchanted Forest (Think Equestria but darker and with Fairy-Tale Characters instead of ponies). In this show the main focus is on Snow White and Princess Charming's battle's with the Evil Queen and how they were cursed and sent to our world but in the Enchanted forest they are mostly battle the Evil Queen in action pack adventures. However although Snow's and Charming's battles with her are tense and the stakes are high (World damaging high) the show also states that there are also other world threatening battles going on simultaneously within the main story that our main character's just don't know about because they don't know the participants. Most of that concept however is shown in the spin-off show "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" which I won't get into right now but lets just say it involves Alice battling Jafar from Aladdin during the events of Season 2 of Once Upon a Time "Regular". However a better example of this concept being shown in the main show instead of a spin-off is the example of showing Prince Phillip and Auroa battles with Maleficent and how they didn't know about Snow and Charming until they met them (Well actually they met Snow white, but i get complicated so...go and watch the show to see what I'm saying, its good.) However back to my point, the reason I like the idea of Daring Do being real or at least the concept of it is because it gives the idea that perhaps their our other ponies out their (Whether or not Celestia or the Mane Six knows about them or they know the mane six is another debate in it of itself) fighting just as powerful enemies that could determine the fate of Equestria itself. Put it simply perhaps the Mane Six aren't Equestria's only defenders .It makes Equestria seem more alive and magical. Plus I like it when MLP does more Adventure focused episodes (Something I hope for more in the future...But I don't mind if they don't Slice of Life is good too.)

Finally I will end with this. You are probably wondering why I keep saying I like the concept of Daring Do being real. Well for one thing I like the execution as well I wasn't bothered by it personally. But I can see why some people would prefer it if Daring Do remained a fictional character and like the idea of ponies having fiction in Equestria. For me it was okay, but I can see if you didn't like it personally.

So yeah those are my thoughts when Looking Back to Daring Don't.
