(Part of. Only part one. Working out the problems.)

~This Story Is Dedicated To My Dad, Joel. Probably wont read this, but I really love you. Thanks for all your help through the years. Even if you did yell a lot. I regret all the stuff I said about you. Thank you <3~

Have you ever been to a place, where the skies are clear, the lakes are a beautiful bright blue? Where the grass is fresh and clean? Well, that's where I live. Hi. I'm Bríd. Bríd Green. And I'm an Elementor.

"Bríd? You home lil' sis?" My sister questioned while slamming the door. The dew drops fell into my room, covering me with the water.

"Yes. And you got me all wet! Thanks 'sis'." I complained. She gave a little giggle and walked up to my room. "Please go away." I told her.

"Why?" She asked.

"Cause. I'm drawing."

"In what? Your little diary?" She pulled it out of my hands and flipped through the pages.

"Hey! Give it back!"

"Why? Is your boyfriend one of the doodles? Hm?" She kept flipping the pages looking for my crush, Dwayne. He was a boy of my age. In the archery district, as me. I have short, curly orange hair. My face was a bit pale with dark peach freckles scattered on my nose and cheeks. I was tall and skinny for my age. I didn't like hanging around the other archers though. I left right after practice to "doodle" in my room. And yes, my sister is right. Most of the pages are filled Dwayne on the practice field.

"No, now give it back! Your covered in filth!"

"Well, not all of us can become 'soldiers' like you, Bríd. I have to clean the-"

"I get it. Can I have my book back now?"

"Here. I don't want it anymore." She threw the book on my lap and stomped back downstairs. Making sure she had left, I closed the door and threw myself onto my bed again. I opened the book once more just to look at the drawings. My mother had given me lectures on how reading and writing and drawing could ruin an archer's aim, but I ignored them. My father had done the same as me. He would keep learning about anything but war. And when it came time for it, he wasn't prepared. His name is Roly, but as a normal girl I call him Dad. And my Moms name is Glínis.

"Hey, where's Mom?" My sister called from the kitchen.

"She went out. Something about meeting up with a friend I think."

"Oh ok then!" She responded cheerfully. A loud ring came from outside our home. My sister opened it and called me again.

"Hey it's your boyfriend! Want to come answer the door?" She yelled

"What? Dwayne? Really?" I slipped on a pair of flats and ran down the stairs. He was waiting there, looking at me. I felt frozen. We stared into each other's eyes.

"Um, Bríd, right?"

"Y-yes?"

"Apparently we're dating." My face went red. I hate my sister, absolutely hate her!

"O-oh! No no no, my sister just thinks that cause she can't get a boy for herself." I'm lucky she didn't hear that. Dwayne just laughed! I can't believe he is laughing at something I said! Or, is it because my face is probably a tomato. Or I'm still in my sweaty armor. Oh no.

"Nice one." He chuckled. So, it was the joke?

"T-thanks. Uh, wanna come inside?"

"Sure!" He smiled at me and walked inside. I started pinching my arm in disbelief. It was all real! "So, I saw you on the field today." My eyes were lost in his. They're like the ocean. It was so amazin-

"Hey sis. I made some food if you and your 'friend' want any."

"Christi, please stop quoting things."

"You're welcome." She huffed herself out of the hall and sat on the couch.

"So, I wanted to know if you wanted to talk tomorrow on the field. I mean, If your staying." He knows I left? He was watching ME? My face felt hotter than before. He started to smile. "Bríd? You okay?"

"Yes. Im fine."

"So? Wanna meet on the field? I can show you some cool aimi-"

"Yes! I mean- sure. It sounds wonderful." He smiled. "How did you get my address?"

"The General gave it to me. He wanted you to come back. Your a real good archer you know."

"Thanks. But im not interested in bows and arrows."

"Really? I thought you would be."

"I didn't choose to follow in my fathers footsteps. They chose me."

"Oh. Where is your father?"

"Probably in the garage. Want to come?"

"Sure." Me and Dwayne pulled off the couch and he followed me out the back door and into the garage. My dad was there, but he was under the car, pulling out pieces and putting new ones in.

"Oh! Hey, kiddo! Where have you been? I was calling yo- ..." He suddenly glanced at Dwayne. "Who is he?"

"Dad. This is one of the kids who train at the field with me. His name is Dwayne." My dad looked nervous and sorta scared. I gazed upon the oil covered floor as my dad put on a fake smile.

"Oh, its nice to see you have friends. Well, you two can go practice, I guess." My father looked broken. He pushed himself back under the car slowly. When we walked out, Dwayne looked back at the door as if my father was a lunatic.

"Whats he doing?"

"Experimenting."

"Does he always experiment?"

"Ever since he had all this time on his hands, yes. I help him though. He isn't so good."

"I like it. It looks fun." My eyes widened. He liked my father taking apart the car?

"I guess.."

"You okay, Bríd?"

"Well, im just thinking about his face when we went in there. He looked so...upset."

"Why?"

"I don't know. I guess he is sad that I'm talking to people. Before, it was just us. He doesn't have a lot of experience in friendship.."

"What do you mean, 'just us'?"

"When I was Six..."

"Daddy!" I opened my arms wide for my fathers grasp when he came home from work.

"Hello, princess! Want to help me in the garage today?"

"What are we going to make?" I was practically jumping up and down. I loved helping my father build his problematic devices.

"How about..a time machine?" He smiled and ran to the garage, I followed him.
