Alright, I hear that some of you would like progress updates...

The truth is, I write slowly. Each time I sit down to write I re-read what I've already written in order to get into the right frame of mind, sometimes making edits as I go. Sometimes I can only muster the inspiration to bust out another few paragraphs. Sometimes I decide that I don't like what I've done and delete large sections at a time.

I'm about a fifth of the way through chapter 2 of Guardian of the Dawn by this point. The next chapter of Survival of the Species is in the works, though I'm currently writing scenes that might not actually make an appearance for a few more chapters; we'll see.

I'm not giving any sort of time-frame on the release of the next chapter for either story, but I'd like to point out that I spent half a year writing, polishing and sitting on chapter 1 for Guardian of the Dawn before I decided to "just post it and see what happened".

The response floored me... But no pressure, right?

You all can rest easy on this point: there's no way I'm abandoning these stories. Even if I get stuck for a while, I'm going to finish what I started; I have endings in mind for both of them. Truth be told, I've got a good half-dozen stories I've partially written in the last two years. I only publish the ones I intend to see through to completion, even if my plan for doing so is rather vague, and I take a hiatus now and then.

Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your point of view, I have a life that gets rather distracting at times, and Fimfiction is full of interesting reading material that tempts me to do more reading than writing.

Still, progress is being made. Just... I write slowly, so please be patient with me.

That is all.

It would seem the best stories take forever to write.

Fifth of the way through?
You mean, like, 5 out of 10, right? And not 5%, r-right? :twilightsheepish:

1/5... so 20%, or 2/10.

Or... 3400/15000 to be more specific.

Is this a 15k word update I think?
No matter how long it takes, 15k words is a chapter well worth reading. So I look forward to the future.

1851311 Dang, someone likes to be exact. :derpytongue2:

Ah, this explains a whole lot. Well, at least it's gonna stop me wondering whether I've been dropped or the story is on hiatus.
