Finally! Some real character development for Fluttershy!
But, where one character advances, another must fall. Pinkie Pie, having advanced character wise in "Pinkie Pride" reverts back to the "clueless one." Seriously, I want more of the Pinkie from "Pinkie Pride," and less of the Pinkie who is loud, doesn't realize how her words affect her friend, and is distracted by balloons.
Rainbow didn't do anything to redeem herself.
Twilight had nothing to do with anything.
Applejack & Big Mac got better in this. The way they play off each other when Big Mac was explaining the situation was really good.
Rarity acted in character, being observing enough to see that Flutters was uncomfortable, and not pushing her to perform.
This episode was a weird one. I love it for giving Flutters actual character development, but I hate it for undoing Pinkie's development. If they cut out Pinkie's lines, this episode would probably be one of my favorites. Good on them for having Flutters overcome a fear. Bad on them for undeveloping Pinkie.
