Lauren Faust and Craig McCracken influenced half of my childhood, Disney made a mark on the other half. My childhood wasn't much, but I grew up with those three in mind. Not sure why I keep going in here, but I watched Frozen three days ago and it was so inspiring I almost cried from the sheer beauty. I regret not signing up sooner and not becoming a brony waaay earlier back when season 1 was in production.
I noticed that several of the characters sounded very familiar, such as when I thought I heard Timmy Turner during 'Twi's flashback in Canterlot Wedding Part 1, or Flim's guffaw (or was it Flam's? I couldn't tell.) that made me think of Double D. I thought that Queen Chrysalis sounded somewhat like Kevin from Ed, Edd n Eddy and that the training montage from Hurricane Fluttershy made me think of a certain montage from Mulan. Now that I think about it, Twi reminds me of an older and smarter Blossom, Fluttershy has Bubbles' ability to speak to animals while Buttercup and Rainbow Dash are impulsive and proud. Oh, and Pinkie made a TF2 reference somewhere in the S3 premiere... After watching a coupla episodes from the Japanese version, I realized that Applebloom is Pikachu and Princess Celestia is Kasumi Tendo. I'm looking forward to the official Japanese version of the Smile Song and JP Shining and Cadence.
Finally, I'm ranting. All because I had too much caffeine. And I'm still tingling from four hours ago.
