I don't really know why I felt that this detail was important enough to create an entire blog post about it but whatever I'm here now so I guess I'm going to anyway.
The big announcement is... Derpy will be making an appearance (as a companion) in my series of Doctor Hooves fanfictions.
There you go that's the big announcement and again I have no idea why I created a blog post to cover this.
Oh, now I remember.
I'm thinking that since she's going to be the biggest companion story wise I'm contemplating doing a spin-off series of fanfictions based on her adventures after she leaves the main series.
That way I can experiment with more original villains that could exist in Equestria rather than creating a load of aliens or translating villains from Doctor Who into pony format.
