Prolly gotta do research myself! · 8:00pm May 6th, 2012

So hi, yeah, random update because I'm bored of writing anything else, question mark?

Almost finished the introduction to "All the Little Histories," which includes descriptions of both Celestia and filly Twi. My roadblock comes up when it comes to Cadence because... I'm still stuck on S2E5, so I haven't even CLOSE to gotten to the Royal Wedding. Meaning I have absolutely no idea how Cadence acts. Then again, it's the flashbacks I'm concerned about, since I also have no idea whether Chrysalis makes Cadence act different at the wedding or not. BUT, once I stop being bored, I should be able to at least describe the look of her and filly Twi.

Once I do that, I can pull up the chapter title and then... Well, either I can make it an intro chapter and reaaaaally stretch it out (maybe 1500 words?) or I can jump right into a lesson. Somehow I feel like Twi's already met Celestia at this point, but depending on how Twi fits in at Canterlot (which I don't know about yet, since I'm STILL not done Season 2), Celestia could very well just be someone in the background for her. I mean, I know she looks up to her, but I don't know for sure if Twi's ever MET her. So if that's the case, it could just be an introduction easily. Otherwise... yeah, it'll have to be a lesson.

But I still don't know what lesson to start with! Doesn't help that I don't know how much involvement Celestia's had already in Twi's education or what history is included in filly/colt education to begin with! The obvious choice is to "start from the beginning" and talk about the founding of Equestria. Or I could go the traditional girly route and talk about royal society -- basically Twi going "how did you become a princess and I can be one too?" Then I've got the idea of talking about the Equestrian economy stuck in my head, but since I can't rearrange chapters... Plus I mean I know it's Twilight and all, but would a filly really be asking about the economics of pony-dom?

The best solution is probably to write a nice long introduction chapter and then hope I get comments about where to go from there... Either that, or make up a list of all the random things that aren't necessarily explained in the show (meaning NOT the Halloween equivalent whose name is escaping me sadly).
