I didn't even realize it was New Years. I looked at my watch and it said '31.12.13' and I went 'Oh shi I haven't done anything for New Years dammit'. Mane six compilation? Just rainbow dash? Fluttershy, a scarf, and a cup of hot coco with floating marshmallows(actually, leave that idea for later)? I have four hours, which I deem insufficient for a decent pic- thus imma be writing this dA journal(because it just feels wrong to not do anything).
Happy New Years. Yay.
Since I put the year into my signatures, it's gonna be painful changing them to 2014 instead of 2013. You guys look out for boo-boos if I make them, please?
It's gonna be a bunch of project updates and announcements from here, just to give you guys a few things that you might/might not look forward to from me in the coming year.
Master&Pet:
New fanfic idea I had a while ago that I'm 3000 words into writing. Based on SmittyG's Pet Dash tumblr series, the story will be written from the perspective of the master. It takes place in a human world where the portal to Equestria is opened and the ponies within are enslaved- all of which happened a decade ago. Unicorns generally are used as servants in wealthy homes while pegasi and earth ponies are either workhorses or racehorses. It's now a common sight to see collared and chained ponies around on the streets, and signs that declare 'Trotters for sale-->' could be seen here and there.
Inequality will be a reoccurring idea in this fic, as well as some mild racism. Aside from inequality between humans and ponies, it'll also explore the world it takes place in and have a peak at the relationship between the country's capital- Central- and its surrounding cities, in much poorer shape outside its walls. Social as well as physical division, if you will.
And on top of all that it's meant to be a comedy fic. Will it work? I guess we'll see.
Fallout Equestria: The Drowned-
The fic itself is getting boats dropped on it with my terrible writing and planning. I'm working on a new approach as to how my team and I are going to get this done, and currently I've decided we'll work on world-building first.
The main errors encountered so far story wise are inconsistencies. Maybe weapon names are muddled up, previous events don't make sense with present ones, or sometimes even the function of certain items are unclear. Thus, the fic itself has been put on hiatus- instead I'll be writing pages upon pages of background information for different companies in New Equestria, functions of weapons and items(incl. armor, cybernetics, vehicles, etc.), background info for cities and locations, and clarifying historic events in the past seven hundred years. Basically a small wiki that my team and I can refer back to in case there are any mistakes that need to be corrected.
I'm still taking a game-like approach to the fic. As it is crossed over with multiple gaming titles, I plan on mixing the genres a bit as well. For example, as a more strategic side of things; you can play between the different main characters for their different special talents. Rover's would ironically be stealth, Bolt's would be ranged combat, Gigs' would be piloting, etc etc.
Then there are the weapon classes. You would think that seven hundred years of technological evolution would make things vastly different. Of course the main categories would still be there- snipers, SMGs, pistols, etc etc. But then there are the sub-categories, then do the extra additions come in. Magic energy, Thermic, Compakt, Tesla, Kinetic, Prism, Foreign matter, Magrail systems, continental- and plenty more. Thermic creates micro suns and hurls them at enemies, Kinetic weapons flings projectiles at near light speed, foreign matter launchers range from weapons that shoot black holes to vehicle destroyers that launch spheres of antimatter at the enemy. Of course, most of these weapons will be expensive or outlawed, making them very hard to attain and thus rare occurrences in the fic- if they ever get to show off their boom in it at all.
Bounty Hunters series updates:
I've had MANY ideas planned for when BH3(which has been running for more than a year. Whoo~) ends. I'll list the titles, and explain them later on.

BH Evolution:
This idea has a storyline based on the Infinity Blade trilogy's. After the Genesis event, Rainbow is teleported a millenia into the future. In the time she has missed, her friends have been corrupted by the objective she left them- to protect and moderate Equestria as the Equestria Corrections Bureau.
During the Genesis event, Rainbow created a copy of herself to place in the correct time since she knew she would be teleported somewhere unknown after using Genesis to merge science and magic. The merge of science and magic created a new world whose technology is so advanced that immortality itself could be purchased on a street market.
Rainbow, or at least the copy created by her; possesses the only weapon that could kill an immortal- the cleaver, with the loyalty crystal encrusted in its handle. Viewing all other immortals as a threat to Equestria, she banded together a few ponies of the ECB and massacred the rest. She continued on a rampage, killing all who would dare disobey her. Her actions caused the crystal to become corrupt, but still possessed the same amount of power. After a decade or so she forged a new empire under her control with fear, having with her the most powerful weapon to exist in the new world. Those that joined her from the ECB stand by her side, spreading fear and chaos across Equestria to reinforce her political power. With absolute control, she has accomplished keeping Equestria safe and moderated.
The world she created with the cleaver is the world Rainbow emerges into as Genesis tosses her out. In her hooves, she holds another cleaver- one in which the loyalty crystal stills glows an uncorrupt red; the only weapon to destroy its vile counterpart.
I know this idea is completely different from what the Bounty Hunters series once was, so why would previous readers want to read it? Well, most of the protagonists are going to be antagonists for a change. I'm sure Magnum as a cyberpony villain is a good enough reason for a lot of you to want to find out what's going on here.
BH: Revelations-
Taking a different route from Evolution, Rainbow is teleported backwards in time instead of forwards. She wakes up as herself normally in MLP:FiM, a pegasus weather pony. Except, while she has a house, a job and everything else she had, she has no identity. She gets a package the next morning, in it her cleaver in its folded form, a note, and a red rose.
Whoever was behind the red rose notes seemed to know properly who she was and what she had done. Having no choice, Rainbow follows these notes as a trail and manages to find her father working for a secret organization investigating the possibility of the science faction's existence. From there, she meets up with a younger Magnum on the way- the series returning to its 'two mercs and a cop' theme; the trio trying to expose the pony behind the red rose notes- and 'accidentally' triggering the events in the BH trilogy. Maybe the notes have something to do with it.
This fic will be a prequel to Bounty Hunters 1, and a sequel to 3. Time travel is a b*tch. Basically what I can do with this fic is eliminate any plot holes and boo-boos I might have made in the trilogy. In addition to that, previous readers would be able to spot all the tie-ins to the trilogy- thus it should be both fun to read and write.
One example of a tie-in I have planned- if you've read Mare in the Wheelchair(Blithy/Valkyrie's backstory), you might remember a police officer trying to reach for her as she fell over the edge. That might be Rainbow in uniform, trying to stop Blithy from becoming the main villain in the trilogy. Why is she in uniform? Because it's a restricted area. Duh.
E.C.B.
A different approach to Revelations, instead focusing on the 'present' after RD is teleported into the past. Her copy forms the E.C.B, along with Tavi and Magnum and the others tasked to protect Equestria and basically do what the royal guards have failed to do in the past three seasons of MLP. This is just a concept so far, so there's no planned storyline at all. Unlikely I'd write this but it's still an idea
New Science Faction Chronicles(side-story):
Taking place straight after Blithy takes that fateful plunge off the side of a building, the story follows her on her path to becoming the dreaded Valkyrie of the Science Faction. After acquiring her distinctive augmentations, she is received into the Science Faction by its leader- Scourge. They quickly develop a parent-daughter relationship, Blithy receiving her new name shortly after becoming one of Scourge's top Shadowguns.
One day Val receives a mission which puts her on a course conflicting with her old home. She disguises her augmentations, and plans to give her parents a surprise- but realizes that they've replaced her as she nears the house. They had adopted another filly, and forgotten about her. She couldn't even spot old photos on the walls.
I suppose previous readers know what happens next. The story will continue to follow her until she becomes overlord of the science faction. This might be something I'll work on in spare time, and since I like Val quite a bit as a character I really want to write this.
Art projects-
Now that all my story ideas are out for the taking(if they're worth taking in the first place). I'm a little more cautious about my art stuffs, there are just too many good artists out there that could just use them if they wanted to and make decent pics out of them in twenty seconds-.-
I'm sketching an idea based on the song Lunar Pirate by Carbon Maestro. Because you know, that's one epic song and all. Was it with MEMJ and Eile Monty? I can't be bothered checking. As for the pic though, it's going to be one of those high-detail ones that I do.
Aside from that, there's a commission for a friend and frequent buyer of mine that I'm working on. And no, this is a special case; so commissions are still closed. Some of you might know the guy actually, he hangs out on skype and does RPs. Tons of them. Go add SilverSoarer on Skype if you're interested in RolePlaying.
(Note: he hates people that don't take it seriously. If you use the word 'preggers' or 'lol' outside of dialogue, he WILL block you.)
Moving on, a few people requested commission charts and a number more noted me for commies. The thing about creating a chart is that I tend to make things over complicated. Like, if you want lined artwork- I can provide differing prices for all these options:

-cartoon
These are just two categories. I can provide many more, like 'background', 'foreground', 'lighting effects', and probably a ton more. Note that you have to pick an option from each of these categories, thus in the end it gets over complicated.
And that's why I still don't have a commission chart.
In other news, I'm getting myself an iPad Air. My faithful 3rd gen iPad just can't keep up anymore.
Oh, and a big 'ThankYou!' to NaughtSought , I love reading your comments. While most of them are what some might call 'witty remarks', they're still very entertaining to me. I find myself waiting for them sometimes, whether or not that's a good/creepy thing.
Happy New Year y'all! It's always exciting to think about what the new year may bring. Life is far too unpredictable. With that said though, maybe I'll save up enough money for a Magnum plushie...?
