Daring Don't Read This If You Haven't Seen the Episode Because There Are Spoilers · 7:40pm Dec 7th, 2013
Final warning, there are spoilers for the latest episode, so don't read if you haven't watched.
So yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Season Four has been off to a great start and it certainly hasn't lost its momentum yet.
I'll admit though, I was a little surprised to find out Daring Do was real (the realization came when we got our first look at A. K. Yearling because, I mean, come on), considering how much she looked like Rainbow Dash. Like, I always just assumed that what the show was implying was that when we read stories like that, we put ourselves in the shoes of the protagonist, so Daring Do just looks like Rainbow Dash with an altered color scheme. So, it seemed kinda strange that this pony just happened to have a mane that contained fifty shades of gray that just happened to match up with Rainbow's mane-style perfectly. It took me a little while to really warm up to the idea, and get over the fact that it took Twilight and Co. entirely too long to get off their butts and help. I mean seriously, these four sketchy guys break into someone else's house and attack and rob its sole occupant, and the six witnesses just sit there gawking. But, eventually, I couldn't help but warm up to it after I saw Daring and Rainbow interact enough times. All in all, the episode had some good laughs, a lot of action (incidentally portrayed in such a way that it renders Hasbro's reasoning for the cease-and-desist order against Fighting is Magic complete horseshit), and a hilariously creepy side of Rainbow Dash that hasn't been shown before.
