People, sometimes... · 11:11am Dec 1st, 2013
Even a month and a half after I've tortured Dog Days of Hunter (which made him significantly better at writing), there's still a guy who answered to my public edit/bashing of the story. "nuuuu u cant say he cant write dis" was essentially the content of his post.
Of course, I don't really care about that guy, he's only one of the brainwashed zombies produced by today's society who think that "trying is enuf"... But, well, I quickly looked at his personal page and I saw this: "It seems I have a passion for editing/proofreading and do well at it too."
Intrigued, I searched for the story mentioned below, to see how it had been edited.
Big surprise: it doesn't look better than an early draft written by a 10-year-old child whose primary language isn't even English!
Some quotes:
But thankfully. One night all this change.
Wow, useless dots and an incomplete sentence. That's some good editing.
with chitin black fur
Chitin has no color. The guy must have thought that since Changelings are blacks, chitin is. Well TOO BAD, IT'S NOT!
She stuttered with small crack in her voice
I accidentally the whole sentence.
Oh my god, that stutter is adorable.
And this isn't even in a character's thoughts...
Of course there's a lot more but I don't want to go further than this. Needless to say, the paragraphs are done wrong, the "I" never are uppercase, there are words missing about everywhere, etc...
Credit to [censored] for the awesome editing he does for me!
After reading the story, this made me laugh.
I know I'm an asshole when I edit sometimes, but damn, when I read the posts of these idiots who think this is good editing, I simply feel right.
