When the night falls

As I lay awake in my bed, the distractions and insignificant things fade away, and my mind begins to work faster, without the added mental strain. The big picture becomes more and more apparent as my pupils dilate. It's important that I get up early tomorrow, I have important stuff to do. But that comes second. Pulling out my iPad, I reverently start typing stories, organising my account, reading that which others have written. A quick glance out my window at the moon, and a ghost of a smile reaches my face. This is going to be a long night.
