Can I ask a question? Why is it that when someone you're close to tells you something slightly upsetting, and you tell them something to help they get mad at you, but yet when you tell them something truly upsetting they tell you to get over it? I've had people here on FimFic help me in the past which is why I'm asking. Usually I'd just let it go, but this just kinda broke my heart I just need a judgement free zone. So ya, to any who comment thank you in advance.

Sometimes people just need to vent instead of get advice. I know it sounds strange, but it's true. Women tend to be more venters while men tend to be fixers by nature. This isn't always the case (some women are great fixers and some men just need to get things off their chests.)
Let's look at my favorite example of person: The Caveman. Back in those days, men were the go getters. They hunted, built shelter, and did most of the grunt work. Because of how they evolved to fit their surroundings, they became problem solvers by nature. Women on the other hand became multitasking marvels, evolving to become mothers, cooks, and social creatures. Women built environments within the shelters and villages the men created, and in doing so, created places to vent frustration.
Now, society has obviously evolved from those days, and while we have adapted, our brains still have some of that ancient wiring still plugged in from the days of old. These moments are what you can call "chimping out." We have a need to be heard, but we are not sure which stimulus will comfort us. We just have to fling our poo feelings until we feel better, and either a peer can help us fix it or we need to fix it ourselves.
Something else to think about as we continue to evolve: these days we are looking more and more unisex. Perhaps our brains are trying to connect differently, allowing both male and female reasoning. Society has begun to embrace this behavior more than it has decades ago.
