2013 has not been a good year for me (all stories on a "soft hiatus") · 9:47pm Oct 27th, 2013
Yep, life as thrown me for a loop once again, in a bad way. Though, after losing my cat and having my registry corrupted this year, what's one more big event?
Well, for context, my grandfather has been really sick for the past month (constant nausea, really anemic), and her went to the hospital a few days ago. Yesterday they found a blood clot in his stomach, though fortunately not bad enough that he requires anything other than blood thinners to take care of it, and his blood sugar meter (type 1 diabetic) was really out of whack for who knows how long.
Today, I learned the has liver cancer. That's really all I know about the diagnosis, in fact. They don't know what kind or what stage or anything, so I really don't know what to expect. Anyway, he's back at home with my grandmother, and going stir crazy (he's stuck at home and can't drive or play golf so this is to be expected) so I'll be visiting him sometime in the next week. I do expect him to pull through, though, as, despite being in his early eighties, this is a guy who is as tough as nails. He served in the CHP for twenty years, including during the Watts Riots, after all.
As to the soft hiatus, I'll be setting all thee of my in progress stories (Luna Looks for Love, Crowns and Apples, Butterflies and Lilies, and The Return of Mr. Bun) to "on hiatus" when I'm in the mood. However, when I feel up to it, I will continue writing those stories and may publish new chapters (hence the "soft hiatus")
