Well, I suppose my pride got the better of me, as a week or so ago I submitted to ED. Right then, hold your groans and boos until the end, please.
What I got back was a bit... less than flattering, and at points a tad rude. I understand those pre-readers get a lot of traffic, so I'll let some of it slide, and as much as I hated to admit it, it's criticism, and the fury was a fuel to write better. Some points I didn't quite get, and since pre-readers only read the first chapter or so, I feel I was a bit slighted. But that may just be my pride crying out, and I have gone back and fixed some things they pointed out. Still, some things I won't fix, such as Rarity's"over-the-top" character, as that is my perception of her character, and I very rarely write lines for her anyway.
This won't keep my from finishing this story, and I have a few more stories in the queue, but still, I am a bit of a prideful person, so if subsequent chapters seem to have a spike in my writing, I'm just overcompensating for the criticism. Happy reading, dear readers!
