I Think I Know Why They're Called Wisdom Teeth · 4:34pm Oct 16th, 2013
... Because they sure do smart when you take 'em out!
But no, seriously, the past two days have been pretty terrible because of that. All four extracted at once. Between that and having my foot shot up with steroids, and my ear shot up with steroids, and fillings, I've been doped up a whole lot this last week whilst in and out of doctors' offices. At least it's almost over, as is my move out of this state on the first of November.
Putting in my hopes that now, since I won't be stressing so much about my health anymore, I can redirect my focus back into my story. I'm sorry if I don't have anything ready by December, Queue. I should at least resume updates on the progress blog during November.
Hope you feel better soon!
This makes me dread if I'll ever need to take them out.

No real use worrying about it. Here's just a couple of tips I'm learning so far in case you ever do:
1. Follow all instructions. I mean all of 'em. Only thing worse than the extraction is dry socket. When they say not to use straws or drink carbonated drinks, they are really trying to save you from much unneeded discomfort.
2. If you are insured, see an oral surgeon. While a dentist can pull them, it'll be much faster at an oral surgeon who can put you under while they do the extractions.
3. Keep pudding. Pick a favorite flavor, and during recovery, just sit in a hot bathtub with a cup of pudding every few hours. You may gain a few pounds by the end of recovery, but nothing takes your mind off of it like decadence of that degree.
Not to mention, if you make it past the first 48 hours, you're in the clear. 2 days of discomfort to save you from a root canal in the future (as was my case) is certainly worth it. It's also a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so once you're done, you're done (well, if you get 'em all removed like I did).
