First Post: Something that's been rolling around my head

So this is my first ever blog post. Yay me!

Basically this is pretty much about the latest fic I've tried my hand at. This idea is actually what pushed me to start writing fanfics, but I wasn't sure if I could pull it off the way I wanted to, which is the primary reason I did both 'Twilight Hosts a Party' and 'All for the Want of a Horseshoe Nail.' Yup, those two were created pretty much as practice to see if I could churn out a decently written fic and people (at least those who checked it out, love you guys) liked it. The other reason of course is that it's funny, and I really liked that poem and wanted to do something with it, respectively.

So the this story I've posted, I plan for it to be pretty big. Essentially, MLP is an MIB styled organization. However whereas MIB policed sci-fi elements, MLP police fantasy elements. I didn't tag it as a crossover because I only really borrowed the principle of a giant secret organization that keeps secrets about the universe from people.

Anyway, onto the 'MLPs'

Of course, reading it will give a good introduction to their world and how the organization works, but here I'll put a few more details about it. The reason I'm putting these on my blog first is because I have yet to explain them in-universe. But if the other chapters were already finished and you read through them then you wouldn't need this post. So thing of it as a temporary companion.

So, MLP is divided into four primary divisions.

Northern Division - Medical, blazers are red. Handle any medical emergencies and tend to magical and physical injuries.
Southern Division - Magitek, purple blazers. Handle technology of the entire organization.
Eastern Division - Reactionary, grey blazers. Primary response team to magical threats.
Western Division - Obfuscation, dark blue blazers. Ensure that general populace stays in the dark

Within the world, people are classified by how much they know about magic

Sleepers - Completely in the dark about everything. But will eventually wake up.
Awake - MLPs agents. You don't wake up without MLP knowing and such get recruited by the organization. Of note is that nobody who isn't ready ever wakes up which is why they never have a dilemma of people not wanting to join or so and so.
Fully Realized - Those who are Awake and have full access to all their powers. Think Alicorn

I'm sure you're wondering why only few people seem to know or have access to magic? Well that involves the backstory of their world. The reign of Discord in the FiMverse is translated here as the Chaos War. Similar principle except that Discord had a whole army of magic users. When Celestia and Luna used the elements of harmony, rather than turn them to stone it did something much bigger. It took the magical abilities of humans and distributed it into the environment. This is why weather, plants, and animals fend for themselves in this verse. Celestia and Luna then created the Compass (old name of MLP) to guide humanity through the generations to ensure that they learn to respect the kind of power they were given and never abuse it again. Yes this all happened a thousand years ago. Celestia and Luna are both Fully Realized and as such live very long.

Finally, several events in this verse will be relatively parallel to the big events that happened in the FiMverse, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. That's all for now, I hope you enjoy the story :D
