Life's Last Breath (Story insight and how it came to be) · 11:04pm Sep 14th, 2013
I had planned to write a zombie pony story for about a month before i began writing Life's Last Breath. I had the plot figured out, I knew it was going to be based off of The Last of Us, the type of technology, ect. I just couldn't figure out the name.
I thought for weeks on end, trying to come up with a name. I figured it out one night while dining at Red Lobster, and i commented to my parents:
"I can't beat this level for the life of me"
The life of me. It struck me like a bag of rocks, and i quickly wrote it down. I tossed around a few names, knowing the word "Life" had to be in it. I then thought of "Life's Last Breath", and it was perfect.
The story it's self was going to be a challange. As a strong Christian, i don't like to put highly inappropriate things in my stories. I knew i had to include gore, and lots of it. I also knew there had to be language, because in a zombie apoclopyse, would someone be more likely to say "Flip!" or "F*ck!"? It's an obvious answer, so cursing would be in the story. I also knew Rainbow would be the main character, so i had to come up with a partner for her. Scootaloo would've been WAY to obvious, so i replaced her with Sweetie Belle :D
I cannot say anymore, or i would be giving away the rest of the story, so take a seat, grab some soda, and read Life's Last Breath!
