And now for something completely random... · 11:14pm Sep 6th, 2013
Just about every new author on this site uses something to tell how they are at writing. For some people, it's likes. Others, story views. Sometimes it's a mix, or a ratio between two.
And then there's me. The reason I see myself as separate is due to how I tell how good of a writer I am. Sure I pay attention to likes, comments, and favorites, but I mainly use that to see how good my stories are. How I find out how good of a writer I am is the watch box. Sure, many people do this, but what I think sets me apart is I pay attention to who's watching. An example would be if you had only 50 followers, and 10 of those followers were recognizable due to one or more of their works on the site.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I see myself as different on FimFiction.
So, now that I've answered a question none of you have asked, how are you guys different on this site? If you have something, post it in the comments on this blog post. And remember, it can be almost anything.
...Okay, so maybe not anything. At least keep it SFW.
To see how good a writer I am, I look at how many comments I get for each new chapter. If someone likes or favorites my story, then that could just mean they thought it was O.K. If they commented, then that means they had a strong feeling about the chapter and they want to tell me about it. If you can get someone to get a strong feeling, then that means that you are growing as a writer.
...
There you go, my thoughts.
