    PoNoWriMo :(

So Everfree happened. I had an absolutely fantastic time and met a bunch of fantastically awesome people. I also entered a speedwriting competition and then epically failed at both understanding the prompt and writing a one-shot. I am not a good one-shot writer. I write long stories. It's just my style.

    LAPTOP!

I'm actually writing this blog post as I'm writing the next chapter of Direction, jumping between the two when I get stuck on the chapter. That will probably be why it feels so disjointed.

Fun with stupid summer camp activities

It's nearly 1 AM and I'm working in the morning so I gotta be quick.

I had a little too much fun writing this last chapter, mostly because it gave me an opportunity to make fun of all the stupid things my camp counselors did when I first arrived at summer camp. I didn't actually make fun of too much of it, but I still definitely enjoyed myself a little more than I usually do.

Can you tell I'm not happy? I hope you can tell I'm not happy. I'm not happy. Did I tell you I'm not happy?

Okay, I've run out of ways to phrase that. Let's move on to the why.

A regrettable event · 7:53pm Apr 5th, 2012

So if you were paying attention you'd notice that this time last week I updated the story with Chapter Four. It was at that point that I made a promise to myself that I would aim for weekly updates, posting a chapter every Thursday.

Well, I'm not posting a chapter today. Chapter Five only has 800 words, and I'm having IRL problems.

Not like serious IRL problems, just problems that arise when you spend 10 hours a day at high school and then try to do even more work when you come home. My mind naturally takes a break when I come home, and it's hard to get it back on track sometimes. If you want to blame something, blame My Little Face When or Equestria Daily. Those are the parties most responsible for my procrastination.

However! This weekend I'm spending approximately eight hours in a car, and while I might be the one driving for part of that time, the rest will be spent in the backseat with a laptop that has no Internet. I also have the week afterward off of both school and extracurricular activities, so I should be able to get back on track in terms of writing. Hopefully, this means there will be two chapters next week. Don't hold me to anything more than just one, though, since I'm struggling to get back in the rhythm I initially had when I began this story.

I know most of you trackers (or favoriters, I guess) aren't particularly attached to this story (yet), and I know for the most part you probably expected a bit of delay since I am a new author and that's what us new authors do, but I'm trying to get your trust, and I'm also trying with my actual writing to gain your attachment as well. I apologize if you saw the fact that I posted four chapters in one week and took that as a sign that I'm a remarkably fast writer who would finish this story quickly, but I'm going to be honest with you and say this most likely will not be completed until the end of May. I have plans for ten chapters, and I know for a fact that there will be absolutely no writing in the last week of April, the reason being I will be spending every waking hour either operating a spotlight or doing other musical-related activities. Yeah, I'm busy.

For those of you interested in my writing style as well as the story itself, I have an announcement. This weekend I will be beginning work on my next story, which will be the first entry into what I expect to be a multi-part Doctor Whooves series of stories. Without spoiling much for those who would be interested in reading it, it will be a far more event-driven adventure-style story than my current fic, and it will set up my own Doctor Whooves canon that I will write in whenever I feel like writing in that adventure style. It will throw out a lot of fanon (again not going into detail to avoid spoilers), but I'm sure fans of Doctor Who will love some of the things I have in mind for this universe.

Summary: No new chapter this week, but potentially two next week. I'm sorry, but I'm a remarkably busy person.
