MLP and Homestuck · 3:23am Jul 16th, 2013

this is actually rather brilliant, because it's the truth. sure, we have tons of our own stuff, and that's excellent, but we start spreading with the ponification and crossovers (which I love). and this is a fact. I know that we have our original creations, but think of where we would be without the crossovers, the ponifications which spread and introduced many to the Brony fandom. and in that right, of ponification and spreading, same thing happens with the Homestucks. so why fight? are we a perfect fandom? No. we aren’t.
no fandom is. the idea that one fandom can be better than another is nonsense. what the fandom is based from might be better in some aspects, and maybe worse in others. but this is a petty thing, and doesn’t play into the rest. fandoms don’t need this sense of competition. we’re not just going to be better. every fandom is fucked up, in a small way. there will always be neigh-sayers, always that one negative group of small but vocal members who really should either grow up or stop being a pain in the ass. but they are a small portion. the faults of any fandom are far outweighed by the good.
the Brony fandom makes great art, awesome music, interesting stories, and ponifies a crap-ton of stuff (it’s basically the main way we grow, by ponifying everything). there are freak-outs, shipping wars, nonsense, comedy, greatness. it is a massive fandom, growing each day, with people meeting new friends, sharing a mass joy over a piece of work.
if I took Brony out and replaced it with Homestuck, I wouldn’t have to change any of what I wrote. we are possibly the closest related fandom. we grew from an unconventional work, which in turn expanded, took nods from the fandom, and became something huge and wonderful. the fans are sometimes thought silly for liking something odd and different, but we stay together. they add Homestuck to other things and other fandoms, and we do the exact same. I’ve seen amazing art from both, read nice stories, listened to kick-ass music, watched beautifully animated things, and enjoyed the material it all comes from greatly.
we’re fandom brothers.
I’m part of the Bronies, Homestucks, Whovians, Sherlockians, Avatars, I’d say something of an Otaku, and probably more which I’ve forgotten to mention. and I’m proud of that.
listen. every fandom has faults, us included. we possibly overreact the most, and have silly fits of crazy. but that’s part of the whole thing.
as fandoms, we have to work together. why? because we should love and accept. love and peace is the only road to go down. rather than hate, try love for a change.
we can be more than great, but we must know that we are all fandoms, we’re all similar inside.
if you don't read this, fuckkkkk yooooouuuu.
