I also draw. Maybe I draw too much and write too little.

How people end up in Equestria in fanfiction · 9:59am Jul 6th, 2013

Or in Academese: On Various Paradigms of Human-centered Reality-Fiction Transposition pertaining to MLP:FIM Non-Canonical Literature

Below is a list of many seemingly mundane things that apparently cause people to cross the dimensional boundary into a land of technicolor ponies; non-dimension-hoppers beware:
1. Lightning: Primary offender. Instead of turning half your body into freshly roasted crispy charcoal like most lightning strikes do, lightning as described in fanfiction somehow transport people into fantasy land instead.
2. Beer: Beloved beverage of many. Also a powerful potion that tears through fabric of space-time.
3. Bullet/Shrapnel during a crossfire: Cause grievous harm to body, and also spatial stability.
4. Television: Be alert of televisions that suddenly grow brightly, it may be the sign of a dangerous explosive power surge, or an equally dangerous quest to vanquish whatever evil plaguing the land of Equestria.
5. Falling: The good ol’ gravity strikes again. Just like how falling a great distance in other stories end up miraculously healing severely-injured characters, falling over a cliff is almost as good as lightning to reach Heaven Equestria. (Please, don’t try it)
6. Going into a mountain/forest/forested mountain: Your desire to see some green will invariably land you in Everfree. God forbid if you actually live near/in a forest.
7. Sleep: Even though mere sleeping does transport people across dimensions (quite often I might add), you don’t really have to forgo it for fear of ending up in some place unfamiliar, because basically if you’re born a cosmic plaything to the cruel fanfic writers, you may as well just ignore everything: In spite of anything you do or do not do, you will end up in Equestria.
