Wow. Soooo, yea. Equestria Girls. Actually a lot better than i expected. Story was decent, humor was good, songs were good and ending was ok. It really felt like the story and songs were for younger kids (which I'm assuming was the target audience) but the jokes were for the older enthusiasts. I genuinely chuckled at a couple of parts, (such as AJ showing up those jocks carrying the table and the soccer scene between Twi and RD).
A couple of minor gripes though, such as:
-Sunset Shimmer, the name, really? I mean, i guess it is supposed to be a complete antonym of Twilight Sparkle, but still....
-The fact that SS did not immediately recognize human Twilight,- same color, name- and that she did not expect Twilight to come in after her.
-The fact that no one questions this random girl appearing, walking around school and not attending classes.
-Principals, yeesh, they were annoying
Some of the upsides, however:
-Dat recreation of the first scene with Fluttershy. Complete and utter win
-the youtube video with the CMC
-Twilight squatting in a school's library.
-people rolling their eyes or generally IDGAF towards Pinkie's randomness.
-the scene with spike where he's the "weirdest thing they saw yet"
-Background pon-err, humans. Especially Derpy.
The very beginning and very end where they were actually ponies was very well drawn out as well. There wasn't any rush to becoming human (although they never mention the thing the Mane 6 went to Canterlot in the first place for). The first scene could have very well been a beginning to a season episode.
Now I just guarantee there is a Discord reference or cameo somewhere, I just gotta find it.
All in all, I'd definitely give My Little Pony: Equestria Girls a solid 7/10. It is something I might get around to watching again, and would probably be really good if I'm hammered.
