It REALLY pisses me off when people say that he is actually crazy (was)
That and the whole Oedipal complex thing.
Seriously, loads of people say that he was nuts.
He really wasn't.
1. Iambic pentameter means sane/high class- Prose means insane/lowclass.
2. Everyone says that he stays in prose until the end of the play.
3. He does not. His final dying speech is given in Iambic pentameter.
He just never gets to be alone, and he isn't allowed to speak in Iambic pentameter while other people are around. He was acting the whole time.

Soooo many directors have had Hamlet kiss his mother during the scene after Hamlet shanks the person in his mother's chambers.
Hey, look. An edit: The guy was Polonius. Just remembered. I didn't even have to check up on it. It was his fault for spying anyway.
It isn't in the stage directions for the original play. Hell, he BLAMES HIS MOTHER for his father's death. That is not a sign of an oedipal complex.
