5. Updates, floods, and exams (or any combination thereof) · 12:40pm Jun 21st, 2013
Well, I finally got up "Chapter 1" of In Her Shadows. Between University exams and study, my life has been largely consumed by mundane things. Not fun. And to compound things, a large winter storm blew up from Antarctica and hammered the South Island of New Zealand, especially the Otago region. We received heavy rain and hail, which over-saturated ground and caused mudslides; and massive rainfall led to my community flooding when the Taieri River decided it had quite enough of staying in its banks. So all the roads in the region were flooded, and most of the three days of being stranded were used moving firewood away from floodwaters, retrieving firewood, ensuring the Alpacas were alright, and staying warm. This flooding also caused me to miss my latter most exam (BSNS105 - Introduction to Management and Organisations) - which had lead to a small fight with the University about how being unable to drive through metre-deep water constitutes a valid reason for being unable to attend an exam and reschedule. (But honestly, if it doesn't work out, email correspondence and my application for 'Special Consideration' goes to the local newspaper to call out the University.) But it will all work out, and hopefully, back to writing. Apologies for the wait: I promise I will make it work your while.
