    Good Things Come in Threes

Well here's to not working on fics for an extended period of time. To get myself back into the swing of writing I promised myself that I would release a fic when three of my stories hit a thousand views. Seeing as I tend to jump around between stories a lot and never actually get one done, I'm releasing an old clopfic that I've had sitting around with the first chapter done. Hopefully this is

    Quick Fics

Hey everyone, I figured it was time to come out and tell you my long term plans for fics as they are becoming more popular.

Quick Fics · 2:28pm Mar 26th, 2012

Hey everyone, I figured it was time to come out and tell you my long term plans for fics as they are becoming more popular.

First off I'd like to thank everyone who leaves a comment, no matter how goofy. I like to see what everyone is thinking and how I can improve.

Going off of that, I plan to release what I call "quick fics" every saturday night/sunday morning in order to improve my writing. This means you can expect to see many different types of writing structures from me. If you don't like a particular story that's fine, come back the next week and see if you like that one.

I also plan on releasing some of my longer fics as soon as I get a few more chapters done. However, I will still continue to release my quick fics every week.

By breakdown of story:

Manaphage was my first published work and was written in a couple of days for the February Write Off competition. Needless to say I consider it a dud since it got such a bad like/dislike ratio. I don't know if this was because of the competion or if it really was hard to read. This is why it's taking me so long to publish my longer fics since they are written in the same format even before I started to work on Manaphage. I do feel like I've improved as an author since then so hopefully I will get the chance to edit more before publishing my older works.

Yellow (or The Yellow, I couldn't decide which was better) was a quick fic I wrote based on the atmosphere of The Cough by Ebon Mane with the fungi known as cordyceps that would infect ponies. In reality this is a very plausible idea for thinning out a huge population - assuming it strikes fast enough. Picture is courtesy of burntfish44 who does both the editing and more obscure picture ideas for my fics. You can check him out here for any of his works.

Ashes to Ashes was another quick fic I wrote based on the same structure of My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George. It was amazing how difficult it was to write a fic based entirely on actions with no dialogue. I also found it difficult expressing gender in something you wouldn't necessarily expect to display gender. That is, both a newborn and an animal.

Many people have expressed their dislike of my open ended stories that end abruptly or open up a world that is never elaborated on. To this all I can say is sorry, many of my quickfics I don't intend to continue. Maybe someday I will expand on a few of my ideas but as it stands now I already have too many concepts going. If something is driving you insane and keeping you up at night just send me a message or comment and I'll get back to you. Maybe one of my fics is worth continuing right away, but I wouldn't know unless you told me. Any critiques are also welcome. Anything from "Hey your one sentence sucks!" to "You should change (that) to (this)." is greatly appreciated. If you're really bored try and see if you can figure out where my stories come from since a lot of them are inspired from direct sources.
