Okay so I am pretty sure anyone here who plays Xbox or at least keeps up with this kind of stuff has heard something about the new console that was revealed today. Microsoft completely screwed themselves over with this new console. I don't remember all the details, but here are some of them:
-The Xbox One is NOT backwards compatible. They are basically saying, "Oh, you remember that console we made, you know, the one leading the console wars right now? It was slightly backwards compatible? Yeah that was cute, but let's throw that feature out the door." NO Microsoft! You do NOT DO THAT!
-The new console will require a pre owned fee, so if you borrow a game from a friend, guess what? YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY THE GAME THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR!!! They are tying every game to ONE account so that this is possible.
-You get a 500 GB hard drive but guess what? You have to install EVERY game to your hard drive, think about it, an average game is roughly 5+ GB, so you can have maybe roughly 100 games, not counting updates, save data, etc. A game like Skyrim that is huge beyond belief, Skyrim I believe was about a 10 GB download, so if you only have games like that, you can only have about 50 games, then you have to delete games EVERY TIME YOU GET A NEW ONE! On top of that, you have to wait to play your GODDAMN GAMES WHEN YOU GET THEM!
-Kinect 2, need I say more? The Kinect was a horribly programmed device, unless you had a PERFECT space, it was pretty unresponsive, I should know, I have had one in the past.
-Tv! Oh boy, I can watch TV on my Xbox? Wait, I can do that, I HAVE CABLE!!!
That's about all the points I can remember pissed me off, if you want more, watch this video, but in the mean time I think I am getting a PS4 when I get the money, Xbox isn't really appealing to me anymore.

I got one of the first 360 models, even the old arcade disk.
I laughed and played with massive joy.
Shooters are my thing, Gears of war, Halo and many more, these were the things that made me love my Xbox, and now they raped it.
They raped it harshly, brutally without any lube.
This information i get, its just so sad, so incredible sad that they decide to sell out the Xbox, to kill the easy use for the profit.
That's just so sad.
Fuck it, 360 and proud.

There's no point to get rid of the 360 now, not like you can play the games on anything else. I love the 360, but Microsoft just fucked 'emselves in their own asses, they don't know how bad they are going down on business. Sure there will be those STUPID people who still buy it, knowing it will be bad just because they REALLY hate PS4 or because they are rich enough for both, but for the most part, they aren't going to be leading the next console war, I predict that PS4 will be leading the next war.
I completely agree with you to diffect towards the playstation, although i still would feel a bit conflicted, then again, Killzone.

I heard that the Playstation 4 is going to be a bit the same of the xbox one.
I think that Pc's are going to rise highly, no more paying, no more bullshit.
Just pay when you want, download the rest.
The PS3 is the same way. You're assuming the games will be optimized the same, they might be smaller.
I'm gonna play devil's advocate on this one, the Xbox One is not as bad as you seem to think.
Kinect might be better, but it's a part of the package so I'm not gonna complain if it's the same. Whatever.
Some people don't have TV, so having it on the Xbox might be more appealing to some people.
Backwards compatibility has been slowly phased out as time has passed, so that isn't surprising at all.
Preowned games... You expect game companies to not get money for their games? If they can't stop preowned games entirely, they are sure as hell going to get a cut.
So, PS4 is my preferred option but Xbox ain't as bad as you say it is.

the feature is also only available in the US, so I guess there literally is no point if you have a friggin reciever already set up.
As for the pre owned thing, now they have released the price info for it, if you want to lend it to a friend, he/she has to pay the full retail price for the game, now, say I didn't know if I wanted the game yet and it doesn't have a demo, is that really fair to make me pay FULL PRICE for a game that I may not even enjoy to begin with? It wouldn't be so bad if there was a way around it, for example, make the game come with a feature that if you authorize another xbox to play it, the owner of it can give them a time limit of up to say a week. At least that would allow you to lend a game to a friend, or if you have a smartphone, it sends a notice whenever they load up the game that you can authorize it if they really don't want pre owned games to be sold, that way people can still borrow it from a friend, and decide if they want to buy it or not. Let's face it, if I am going to pay full price for a game, it's not gonna be spent on a friends game, I will get my own friggin copy.
The rest I can live with, but that pre owned thing is what's going to drive the most people to Wii U, PC, or PS4, which I am most likely going to become a pc gamer, then get a Wii U, then if I deem the games seem good enough, the PS4, but I am not buying that over glorified cable box.

That would never work. If someone registered a game then sold it to someone else who maybe didn't know about that authorization thing, they could just be a total dick to the other guy.
