Reading some fics on this site, and other places I don't see people writing as a way to use their creativity, I see them writing fics just to be part of the fandom, or to seem cool. Another thing, I'm not really a brony, I think the show is fine, but I don't label myself as one but I still write MLP fics sometimes, why? Well, it's simply because it's a nice universe with good characters, but what kills me inside, I see someone with a great idea, but for some reason they HAVE to make it pony, which not only restricts the freedom you have in writing, it also makes it less original.
The morale of the story. Don't write fics just because you want to be part of the fandom, write fics because you want to make the things in your mind come to life. Don't restrict yourself to pony.
