The Return

This is not strictly pony-related, but I made this brief poem a while back, and figured I'd post it here (I've never had anyone critique anything I've written before). Happy reading!

A return marked with death,
A victory marred by dismay,
A fleeting feeling none can catch,
A terror none can allay.

There is little life in a world of fear,
And less where they fear to tread.
There is little hope left in a world long dying,
And less in a soul long dead.
