News, Some good, some troubling. · 1:41am Apr 23rd, 2013
Ok guys, I'm going to be straight with you. I have done absolutely no work on Sugar Games beyond planning.
*Sees the torches and pitch forks coming out*
*Gulp* Now hold on a second, please! It's not that I don't care about you guys. It really is encouraging and touching that so many of you guys enjoy my work! To this day, I am still getting favorites on SG and LVtD on a daily basis, not to mention the occasional watcher. All that said, I do have plans to continue SG when time permits. I am currently working a full time retail job, along with full time college, so time is really scarce for me. Whatever free time I do manage to find ends up going into homework, primarily coding and network, which is time consuming.
So to thank you guys all so so soooo much, I wrote a poem! (I apologize in advance if it's absolute crap, but it's been buzzing in my head all day and I need to get it out.) ENJOY!!!

Ones and Zeros
We live in a world of pixels and bits
In a world where wealth is measured not in dollars, but in data
A world that allows anyone to become someone new.
In this world we have two identities.
One that we define, the other that defines us.
In this world of ones and zeros,
everything we do
everything we are
is analyzed and quantified
defining who we are.
In this world, where computers define who you are
Is that person still you?
Are you truly only the sum of your actions,
Or is there more?
A coffee in the morning
Gasoline
Drinks after work
Flowers for your loved one.
Your daily life, according to the digital network of the world.
The physical world is so much more than this,
But the computer will never see this.
Never know feeling of a loved one holding you close
Nor the warm glow of the sun on your skin
And the memories that it brings with it.
So then what of those personalities that are all the computer knows?
They have all the knowledge of its owner’s counterpart
All the imagery from what they have seen
Uploaded to social networks for all the other digital lifeforms to see.
If these digital personalities are not a true representation of ourselves,
Can we still claim ownership over them?
When those of malicious intent discover our digital selves
Lonely and defenseless,
They can wreak utter havoc and devastation with a few clicks.
So much heartache for a collection of ones and zeros.
When a person is held against their will,
Forced into situations they would never knowingly engage in,
We consider it kidnapping.
Could the same not be said of our virtual selves
Taken to be used at the whim of a hacker?
When a person exterminates hundreds of innocent individuals on a whim,
We consider it genocide.
Could the same not be said of a server,
Data corrupted
Reduced to an empty block of metal and silicon
With the application of a few packets of ones and zeros.
Our lives have been segmented, packeted, and framed
All to be sent over the wire as strings of ones and zeroes.
Is this all that we are?
That we can consider the loss of these strings of numbers
To be as crippling as losing a hand?
Or are we something more?
first!! nice dude
