I should have thought this through more...

I think there comes a time for every fanfiction writer when you have to look back at the work you've done and say:

'wow, that's terrible. what the hell was i thinking when i wrote that?'

    Among other things.

I think there comes a time for every fanfiction writer when you have to look back at the work you've done and say:

On one hand, writing fanfiction is great practice. You've got a setting and established characters with complex personalities all laid out for you. Writing an episode for the week can't be THAT hard, can it? Live and learn. Like how I learned I can't write a mystery to save my life, which is a problem, because the quarter-of-a-novel I'm trying to finish, which is currently pancaked under the biggest writer's block I've ever had is basically a mystery underneath the fantasy.

But on the other hand, throwing out whatever comes to mind when you write about pony Nancy Drew does help you find strange solutions to old problems.

So...it all balances out...?

(Is there an emote for throwing your arms into the air in confused resignation? Because it would fit perfectly right here.)
