Boston Today · 5:53am Apr 16th, 2013
Sorry for a random blog post, but I want to make sure that I show my support.
I wanted to tell you all that the Boston Marathon was interrupted when two explosives went off at the finish line as the first runners came close to finishing. One more went off in a nearby library. but five others were found and dispatched. Overall, 3 dead (one an 8 year old boy) and over 100 injured. So many are now in the hospital getting limbs amputated and burns treated.
I want to express the biggest sympathies to those affected by such a tragedy, and hope that all of you that read this have no family there.
Furthermore, I want to say that among everything, I am thankful that everyone there did what they could to help each other. Many citizens helped others escaped, runners offered jackets to others and then ran to hospitals to offer blood donations, and all first responders acted with haste and found the other bombs and saved those that they could.
I am proud, but not because my country survived. I'm proud that there are others out there willing to help others even in the most terrible of situations, and that if there are tragedies, I am confident that we will stick together to overcome these hardships.
Thank you so much for reading.
