Second pony... I meant person! · 7:09am Apr 12th, 2013
OK so here's the long and short of it. I am writing a second person adventure novel.
I am writing it like one of those books where the reader can make choices.
It is a HIE fic where the character to be refeerred as 'you' is at home. Something is outside.
So what do you guys and gals think? Should I write using this underused perspective?
Any words of wisdom would be most appreciated.
It's always a good time :D
I vote no.
The reason second-person perspective is rarely used as a story type is, quite frankly, it shoudn't be used. I've found that it's an ineffective way to tell a story and follow a plotline.

Oh okay, you know better than me.
It was meant to be like one of those make your own adventure novels where you make choices in the story, have you ever heard of those? They can be quite fun. Almost like roleplaying.

Yes, but I prefer, you know, actual roleplaying. If you want a make-your-own adventure have a blog post following every chapter for people to pitch in ideas.

I don't have enough of a following for that to glean any meaningful results. I'll drop the idea. No worries
