Specifically a hard drive that doesn't overheat itself every few hours. I dunno what's happened but Speedfan has been telling me that it's been running around five degrees cooler than before (115F vs 120F), but I'm not complaining. Far from it, since now I can play SimCity without worrying about a heat related computer shutdown.
On a less tech related note, it's been a busy ass week. I will get to fanfic progress in a second, but first, a few things that have been going on:
1. The Fleur de Lis, group, which I run, has been renamed to "Fleur dis Lee AKA Fleur de Lis". The former name to bring it in line with the name in Gameloft iOS app where she appears, and the latter because it's the better known name and, thus more easily found than "Fleur dis Lee." As things stand, I'm not going to change her name in "The Model Caretaker" because I don't see it being worthwhile to make edits throughout the story just to bring her name in line with canon
2. Two new fanfic ideas are now in the incubation stage. One, more of a heartwarming d'aww type fic, is about how Scootallo met Rainbow Dash and came to see her as the coolest pony in Ponyville. The other is based on said iOS app and is a lulzy story about Fleur dis Lee becoming an alicorn by accident (why she's an alicorn in the game, I don't know, though I suspect laziness)
3. Just for the record, I have not played the game, nor do I intend to (I personally don't like the idea of using tablets, or playing an allegedly free game like that), but I did stumble upon this info from other sources (MLP wiki, TV Tropes).
Fanfic progress
Progress on The Model Caretaker has been coming along swimmingly, and the latest chapter is about 2/3s of the way done with 4200 words to show for it. Also, when I said that I was looking at a sixth chapter, I had completely forgotten about something I mentioned in the fourth chapter (Don't ask how I did that), so with that rediscovered tidbit, I'm dropping the idea for the time being.
Fanfic reviews are cuirrently off until I can come up with a consistent format for them, unfortunately. I didn't like the style I used for Kindness in Dancing, and am currently looking for a good way to actually set them up.
