April Update · 4:51am Apr 1st, 2013
With a few people paying attention to me, I thought I'd take this opportunity to let you know I appreciate it. Your comments (and likes and favorites) encourage me to keep writing, so thank you.
None of this blog post is an April Fool's joke, despite the current date.
Now to update you on what I'm doing. Unlike some lucky sons-of... I mean... some authors on here, I don't really have time to write at work except during my lunch break, so that leaves a couple hours after work and weekends to get my writing done. Which is plenty of time, if properly motivated. Obviously, I'm not, because here I am writing a blog entry instead of writing stories. But I'll get back to that in a few minutes. First, a list of my current projects, for any who are interested.
MLP
Avoiding Clichés - This one's ongoing, but I don't have any stories currently in progress, just whenever I come up with something for it.
[Untitled sequel to Twilight's Library] - I'm around 6000 words into this one. It's, uh... probably going to be huge. Don't really want to go into any detail now, but suffice to say it's going to answer a lot of questions.
Princess Luna Visits a Wet Dream - Currently open in another tab at 1435 words, with another page full of notes for it. Teen rated, because I avoid details of the dream and most of the story takes place after the dream itself. Awkward conversations and (hopefully) comedic moments ahead!
Non-MLP
[Untitled novel] - A science fantasy project that has been forming in my mind for years, and I've started writing once before, but I think I overcomplicated it. I'm trying it again and making it more character driven, so even I don't know how it will end, now. I've got this sinking feeling that the main character is likely to die partway through the book simply due to the choices he makes and the obstacles he's up against. That could make things difficult.
[Untitled novel, working subtitle: "An Interview With a Man Who Insists He Went To Nam"] - A collaboration with a coworker who can say the most ridiculous things with a straight face, this is based on his ludicrous stories about when he was "Back in Nam."
And those are just my writing projects! I also have an iOS developer license so I try to do some app development from time to time and am starting a collaboration with a friend of mine writing a simple free game for PC. If only I didn't have to work, I'd have the time for all this wonderful creativity...
Questions? Concerns? See one of these ideas you really want me to finish quickly? See one of these that's absolutely terrible (other than the Nam one, I already know it's incredibly offensive) and you think I should scrap it? Let me know in the comments.
