Just Thought I'd Drop By...

Well, here I am, eight weeks and four days later...
Though I was quite flustered immediately in the wake of the TW fiasco, as time passed, I began to relize just how importantof a learning experience it was for me. As Ikept thinking back to that terribly thought-out story, I thought more about the mistakes I made altogether in my three month endeavour on Fimfiction.

Starting with the (no longer existing) story itself. That entire thing was literally typed out in less than three hours simply on impulse, there was absolutely no planning, editing, or even an afterthought about that one. That's my biggest folly as a writer, my impatience. I never want to wait to let my ideas and plot etc. 'simmer' to see if what I have written is truly great. I also let my impulses of "oh, that's cool idea, I'm doing that" take too much control, hence mixing MLP and 'Qudrophenia' seemed like a good idea at the time. Look how great that turned out...

I also didn't help with my constant, almost senile rantings that probably just seem like a lunatic.
Unfortunately for tonight, I have less time than I previously imagined, so I can't go into everything I wanted.
Let me just finish by saying that I haven't completely given up, just taking a break until at least summer. I have done works in other areas and have been much more successful and have a new perspective on writing and should probably fare a bit better. I make no gaurantees that I will ever return, though.
