Proofreaders, editors and consultants wanted! In other words: HELP!!! · 7:09pm Mar 28th, 2013
Hello, everyone, first blog post here.
Today, I'm writing this for several reasons:
1. Because I feel like it, so deal with it.
2. I have been on this site for little over a year and after browsing through hundreds of fics I admit that I am... unsatisfied. Not because the stories are bad, mind you, no, but because there is a severe lack of a certain kind of fics. Fics that I believe do have some potential to explore concepts in a very unique manner that, by nature, clash a lot with the ideals of the MLP universe like crossovers. There is one reason why I like crossovers so much, because they offer the opportunity for an interaction between two universes that have had no previous interaction and thus, are completely different, possibly to a very fundamental level. They offer possibilities not just of to see who kicks whose ass better than the others but to make each universe's characters see another perspective of a common concept and analyze their own, I like for people to stop and think. I believe that if a story makes you stop reading it to analyze your own perceptions not just of the world but also its abstract concepts that the story explores then it has succeded in leaving an influence in me, it taught me something new or maybe it reminded of something else I took for granted a long time ago.
3. Now that I have that covered I must move to the next part of my rant. I have an idea for a story, inspired by many others that does something similar to what I said about crossovers. I chose this site because it appears to be the only dedicated site to a franchise's fanfics, that and the fact that I've come across some really awesome authors and really nice people that do offer insight, and a well thought, sensible opinion, which I need. I'm not going to get into lots of details about the story, but suffice to say that it does involve something that I haven't seen at all on this site:
Highly advanced A.I.(s)? visiting Equestria.
Why those? well, for one: It hasn't been done before (at least not that I know) but that's just the last reason. The real reason is because it offers potential for an original universe to do what I already stated above. That is why I request for help on this project, people who are willing to spare a bit of their time to answer my questions and doubts, to not be afraid to offer a sincere opinion and constructive criticism and whatever else I may need.
Well, that is all for now, I hope this can actually interest people and compells them to offer help.

Glad to see you're considering writing! While I myself don't know about many "consultants" around here (although I'm rather sure there are many; some people even write it in their bio that they'd happily talk to anyone about anything), I can help you finding editors and proofreaders! You see, this is the group I usually use; they're really helpful guys. If you have qualms, however, try this group or this one, although I only ever tried the first link.

By consultant I mean anyone who may have some knowledge about some of the stuff I may include in the story and may have the time and be willing to answer a couple questions I will inevitably have as I go. Given that it will include quite a bit of science and I'm not a scientist I want to make sure that it is accurate.
