Now that we have all seen this horribly atrocity I think we can all agree that this episode is right to the gutter.
Even the pree alicornification stuff was bad, of course nothing compared to the ramification of the ending part. This episode really makes me regred that I had ever told anyone that I enjoyed watching a show that was made for, and now clearly ONLY is made for very VERY little girls.
It deserves all the hate it can get and much more. The only good thing about all of this is that we had been warned so when I saw it, I felt only mild disgust and not, that which I had felt in the beginning before I grew numb to it.
I can only say one thing. At least we have season 1 and 2, and at least we have fanfiction.
Worst episode EVER.
They can scram that next season and everything after this. I'm done, I'm ashamed of ever having called myself a brony.

She could fly! Scootaloo have been born with wings and cannot, and Fluttershy can barely fly and she flew on wings she had just gotten. It came completely out of nowhere, her ascension effectively voided the first part of the episode about finding your destiny, because hers were just screwed up by the same spell that had switched her friends cutiemark, only with her it wasn't presented as a screw up.
No this wasn't just a bad episode, it was an outright horribly one. And Twilight got something she had never never worked for, never done anything to deserve, and is now elevated above her friends that unlike her have actually worked for what they are. And the worst part is, everypony loved and acceped it with no question. If that is not a mary sue I don't know what is.

Sorry, I did not apply to your comment sooner I was very busy in the last two weeks. Scootaloo could not fly because she is a filly, and her wings are underdeveloped. Fluttershy on the other hand is NOT a bad flyer and we have seen that on several occasions. I admit that the spell that Twilight used was strange. I mean really who would read a unfinished spell out loud without thinking what will happen is beyond me. Magic in fiction is very strange believe it or not.
It happened in some shows but I can't remember which ones. It was foreshadowed throughout the seasons because Twilight is another word for dawn or the same point were the sun comes down and the moon comes up and vice versa. She did deserve it because one she got the elements of harmony together and defeated Nightmare Moon, two rebounding the friendships that she had and defeated Discord, three found the crystal heart in which Spike saved the day on that one. Your right about everypony accepted here without question but what are you going to do. Everypony knows Twilight and who wouden't question it.
That is my opinion on the out take.

Pound Cake can fly and he is just a foal. Scootaloo is handicapped, she reminds me of that one guy in my old gymnasium parallel class that only had two fingers on his super thin right arm, (of course he was still better to basketball then I were).
In any case everything you said, it can be used to all of her friends.
Rainbow Dash is Iris, Pinkie Pie is Bacchus, and Applejack is Gaia.
And she did not defeat Nightmare Moon or Discord, it was the element all of the element that did that. And it wasn't foreshadowed before season 3 that they would destroy her

It would be hilarious if the first ten seconds of Season 4 would be Twilight crashing, her friends going to the crash site, then Twilight saying something along the lines of "I should've planned that out more.." in a scrunchy face.
... and then she faints. ^^
But in all seriousness, the first two episodes of S4 COULD address your issues with the S3 finale. It's a definite possibility.
Such as "And the worst part is, everypony loved and acceped it with no question." It's likely that this will be addressed in S4. I'm not saying it will though, but quitting just because of a single episode doesn't feel right to me. I respect your opinion though.

I'm not quitting I have just stopped loving the show, and started hating Twilight
1110023 they made the episode before they knew the series would have season 4. so they made Twilight fly as an "ending scene"
(the episode was a stand in incase the series ended.)
The coronation could have been a week from when we saw her get transformed.
(thus timeskip, annoying but understandable. because of time limits)
Why hate twilight and the show from one episode? you can just write unicorn Twi in your stories just like everyone else who didn't like it.
Twilight is still the same character lol.
Saying you hate a show because of one episode is like saying you hate lettuce because one leaf was rotten.
Just throw the bad leaf out, (or forget the episode)
and continue consuming the wonderfully delectable pony awesomeness.
(P.S. I liked the episode, and it was probably one of my favorites)
