    [no title]

This will be a short post, but I just HAVE to share this.

When I went to my laptop today, the screen display was off and there was a note on my keyboard from our favorite spirit of chaos.

Do you like the new look?

    In the Works

Hello to any who happen upon my little blog ... thing! This is pretty cool. Anyway, I'd like to make use of this fun feature, and I'll start by talking about what kinds of stories are lined up waiting to be finished, polished, and posted. I've been jumping back and forth in my writing, so I haven't slapped a "The End" onto any of the short stories, or finished a full chapter in the long stories.

I have had an overflow of ideas since coming into this colorful fandom, more than I can keep up with. The most likely short stories to appear soon are two both centered on Pinkie Pie, and one involving Twilight and Celestia (not romantically ... I only mean that they are both IN the story.) One of aforementioned Pinkie Pie stories can be seen as a sort of follow-up of "MMMystery on the Friendship Express." On the subject of multi-chapter stories, I have both a dark and light one in the works. One involves King Sombra, the other Dash and Fluttershy (again, not romantically.) There's one other BIG idea, but I'm not sure if it's been done before and right now it's just a vague concept. I'll most definitely wait until I get a few other stories up before delving into that one, but if I can make it work it means a BIG adventure.

I never used to think I could be good at short stories, but now it seems I'm writing more and more of them and I'm really enjoying it. There's something magical about a short story. Of course, I still love the big fantasy adventures, which is what I'm working on in the non-fanfiction world of writing right now. I have a completely orginal novel that is currently about 3/4 of the way done.

Oh, so many things to write! So little time! I think, though, that we can write stories in Heaven. Can we write stories in Heaven? We must be able to, because creating is one of the perfections of God that we, as made in His image, possess. I can only imagine being able to create stories that come to life eternally. But I digress. Though I have a lot on my plate currently with schoolwork (still in high school here...) and such, I will do my best to get a story up soon.

So long readers! If anyone actually does read this. This was fun. I'll have to write another blog post soon.

I think I was the complete opposite. I have a penchant for reading/writing short stories and never thought I'd delve into anything chaptered, but that's changed, leaving me working on three chaptered stories. :facehoof:

Yes, yes there is. They can take a single idea, feeling, thought, or concept and magnify it, and dissect it, without ever directly saying what it is.

My favorite meditation on writing stories in Heaven is Tolkien's poem Mythopoeia, specifically the final stanza.

Good luck and happy trails on your works-in-progress!

825579> Ah, yes, Tolkien's opinions on writing have greatly influenced me. I've never read that poem, but I've heard of it and hope to read it very soon. And thank you very much!

Exactly! That subtlety is what has so much potential.
