Meh. (a new episode review) · 5:12am Feb 10th, 2013
As the title may suggest, today's episode was not my favorite. I did like that it was a continuation of last weeks episode and thought that was pretty cool. (Though I did have a hard time finding it on Youtube because the first part was a repeat of last week's episode and that got me all confused.)
I had difficulty determining whether this was a Rainbow episode or a Twilight episode. Rainbow is the one that got the character development and the one that seemed to learn a lesson (though I think they all kinda did) but Twilight seemed to be more of the focal point, while Rainbow played more of a secondary lead role. In the end I decided to look at it as a Rainbow episode.
Speaking or Rainbow. HER DAD IS NOW CANON!!!!
Other random thoughts. I liked the new character. Really friendly and outgoing. Has a fear of the indoors for some reason, not really sure what that was about. Right when I saw her, I said to myself, "I'm calling it right now. She's not the games representative and there has been a case of mistaken identity." I pretty sure you all guessed that, but I'll take my victories where I can get them.
Also, did you see Shining's hat. Man, that thing had a long brim. Glad to see more of best guard, though. Also, glad to see that the headcanon beginning to form in my mind about the royal couple somewhat validated. They are living in the Crystal Empire and Shining seemed to be training new royal guards (though I guess they could have been training for the games, but guards just seems more logical to me.)
Finally, I'm glad I solved my ruined shipping problem or seeing Carrot and Written together again would have not been pleasant. Manged to fix it and still keep those story ideas mostly intact. Actually, I think they're both better off for it.
In other news, both the rewritten chapter for TLoM and the Hearts and Hooves Day story are done and will be ready for release the day before V-Day. (Or as we single people know it, that day where everyone gets all lovey dovey and we get left out.)
*Sigh*
Oh well. At least we still have Singles' Day on the 15th, when all the unsold chocolate goes on sale and we can wallow in self pity.
In all seriousness, though, if you have a special somepony, be sure to give them extra cuddles and make them feel super special this Thursday. You really don't know how lucky you are.
Have a happy lovey-dovey day. I'll see you all for the you-know-what next week.
